1/ Solana's validator landscape is evolving rapidly.
We saw validator streams diversify in December 2024-January 2025 to include Jito Tips (30%) and priority fees (24%). Since then, issuance has once again become the dominant source of rewards (76%).
2/ The chain now has 1,332 active validators securing 63.9% of total supply (380.9M SOL).

3/ SIMD-96, activated February 2025, now directs 100% of priority fees to validators instead of burning 50%.
This increases validator revenue but raises questions about sharing these rewards with delegators, which SIMD-123 aims to address through commission-based distribution.
4/ Liquid staking adoption on Solana (9-10% of staked SOL) remains lower than Ethereum's rates. Jito leads with ~17M SOL staked, followed by Sanctum (7.4M) and Marinade (5M).
