Changpeng Zhao (CZ), co-founder of Binance, recently said he will donate 500 BNB (equivalent to over $300,000) to support Thailand and Myanmar in recovering from the severe 7.7 magnitude earthquake that caused significant losses.

This donation is expected to be distributed through Binance Thailand if a suitable on-chain donation platform cannot be found to implement the relief fund.

CZ shared on the X platform on March 28: "Hope everyone is safe in Thailand," before announcing support for both heavily affected countries.

According to international media, the earthquake has killed at least 200 people, while rescue forces are racing against time to search for those trapped under the rubble.

The earthquake occurred at 13:20 local time on March 28, with the epicenter located about 16km from Mandalay city (Myanmar). At least 732 people have been injured, and the casualty count may continue to rise as rescue efforts proceed.

General Min Aung Hlaing, leader of Myanmar's military government, has called for help from the international community to support disaster relief efforts.
