According to ChainCatcher, former Forbes business journalist Eleanor Terrett revealed that Brian Quintenz, the incoming chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), has begun meeting with senators on Capitol Hill to prepare for his nomination hearing.
Quintenz met today with Republican Senator Chuck Grassley from Iowa to discuss CFTC-related matters, including the cryptocurrency spot market.
It is understood that Grassley is a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, which oversees the CFTC and will play a crucial role in determining whether the CFTC should expand its regulatory authority over the cryptocurrency spot market.
