According to ChainCatcher, citing Jintian's report, Rapidus, a chip enterprise supported by the Japanese government, began testing the production of next-generation chips on Tuesday, marking an early critical step in Japan's independent manufacturing of AI components.
It is reported that Rapidus plans to mass-produce semiconductors using 2-nanometer technology by 2027, theoretically matching TSMC's chip manufacturing capabilities. The company's CEO stated: "Developing 2nm technology and achieving mass production is very challenging. There will be more experiments in the future, and we will gradually reduce error rates to gain customer trust."
