<CoinDesk> Mars Finance reports that retail giant 7-Eleven (7-11) has announced the launch of a central bank digital currency (CBDC) test in South Korea. Currently, customers who have accounts with one of the seven partner banks, including the Korea Development Bank, Shinhan Bank, and Woori Bank, can pay for goods by scanning a QR code from their digital wallet at checkout. To encourage participation, 7-Eleven is offering a 10% discount on all products purchased using digital currency during the trial period. </CoinDesk>
