EigenLayer will launch the Slashing mechanism on the mainnet on April 17. All staking withdrawals will be completed after 14 days of waiting.

According to Foresight News, EigenLayer plans to officially launch the Slashing mechanism on the mainnet on April 17. In the Slashing mechanism, AVS can set specific conditions that operators must run their services under. Operators can choose to join these conditions when running AVS code. If operators fail to meet the set conditions, AVS may penalize them. If operators successfully run services, AVS can reward their performance and incentivize specific activities. Today, EigenLayer will launch the Slashing mechanism on the Holesky testnet, followed by launches on the Sepolia and Hoodi testnets. Additionally, with the introduction of the Slashing mechanism on the mainnet, all staking withdrawals will require a 14-day queue to ensure AVS can correctly calculate staking and apply Slashing when necessary.
