According to ChainCatcher, citing Cryptopolitan, four police officers from the Central Crime Branch in Bangalore, India, are under investigation for allegedly tampering with cryptocurrency asset evidence.
These assets originated from the criminal proceeds of international hacker Srikrishna Ramesh. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) discovered that after arresting Sriki in 2020, the officers illegally accessed his crypto wallet and transferred Bitcoin through private network experts.
Currently, the investigation is ongoing and may involve more extensive corruption.
