PANews reported on April 23 that according to the Xin Report, Hong Kong police conducted an enforcement operation codenamed "Strategic Attack" from April 7 to April 17, targeting fraud, cybercrime, and money laundering. A total of 503 people were arrested, involving 404 fraud and technology-related cases, with a total amount of 1.56 billion yuan. During the operation, the police broke up a fraud center in an industrial building in Tsuen Wan, arresting 11 people, some of whom have triad backgrounds. Group members used online dating platforms, creating personas of "young and beautiful" and "successful" women, and used "scripted dialogue" and "AI face-swapping technology" to lure victims into opening online stores on fake e-commerce platforms. They fabricated website traffic and third-party orders, requiring victims to top up the online stores with virtual currency.
