
PANews reported on April 25th that according to Cryptonews, Dave McCormick, a Republican senator from Pennsylvania and former CEO of Bridgewater Associates, has become the largest Bitcoin investor in Congress. Based on financial disclosures, he has invested multiple times in the Bitwise Bitcoin spot ETF, with a cumulative investment of nearly $250,000. In March alone, he invested between $310,000 and $700,000 in the ETF; his position disclosed in February reached $450,000, bringing his total investment in the fund close to $1 million. Notably, a few days before Trump signed an executive order exploring a "strategic Bitcoin reserve," McCormick purchased Bitwise Bitcoin ETF shares worth between $65,000 and $150,000. Additionally, his disclosed trades include selling Goldman Sachs stock valued between $1 million and $5 million.
Besides McCormick, Montana Senator Steve Daines previously held multiple cryptocurrency ETFs including ProShares, Bitwise, Amplify, and Vaneck, but has now completely liquidated his positions. Georgia Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene purchased iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF shares before Trump announced the "Bitcoin strategic reserve" plan. Justin Sun, an advisor to World Liberty Financial owned by the Trump family, claimed to be the largest shareholder of the Valkyrie fund.
