According to ChainCatcher, citing The Block, the Bitcoin re-staking platform Lombard has reached a collaboration with the Eigen Foundation, which governs the Ethereum re-staking protocol EigenLayer, to introduce Lombard's liquidity staking token LBTC into the EigenLayer re-staking ecosystem. This partnership enables BTC holders to obtain base returns through the Babylon protocol while participating in EigenLayer re-staking to earn additional rewards.
Lombard co-founder Jacob Phillips stated that this marks the first time BTC has been integrated into the re-staking ecosystem in the form of LBTC, signifying a breakthrough from BTC as a value storage to a yield instrument. The two parties also plan to enhance the re-staking security and slashing design of BTC within the next six months through their collaboration.
