On April 30, the "Federal Reserve mouthpiece" Nick Timiraos stated that the PCE price index is expected to show a core price increase of only 0.08% in March, based on an analytical model that maps CPI (Consumer Price Index), PPI (Producer Price Index), and import prices to the PCE.
Additionally, the overall price level for March is expected to remain essentially flat, with a slight decrease of 0.01%.
