On April 30, President Trump signed an announcement on April 29, allowing certain compensation for imported auto parts and automobile manufacturers assembling vehicles in the United States. This latest measure reflects the continuous opposition from various sectors in the United States to the government's tariff policies, putting increasing pressure on the government.
According to the announcement, the compensation is used to offset part of the tariffs on auto parts assembled in the United States, with the compensation amount reaching up to 3.75% of the vehicle's retail price, and this compensation cap will be reduced to 2.5% of the vehicle's retail price in the second year.
The previously announced 25% tariff on imported automobiles officially took effect on April 3, and the plan to impose a 25% tariff on key auto parts is scheduled to take effect on May 3. (Xinhua News Agency)
