PANews reported on April 30 that according to Bitcoin.com, the biometric crypto ID project World Network (formerly Worldcoin) has launched the "Build Latam" program in Latin America, allocating 1 million WLD tokens (approximately $4.8 million) to 15 regional projects to promote its iris biometric and digital identity system. The project was first launched in Argentina, where over 2.2 million residents have completed iris verification through the Orb device, making it one of the regions with the highest participation globally.
Martin Mazza, Worldcoin's Latin American regional manager, revealed that since October last year, the project has enhanced data security using "Anonymous Multi-Party Computation" (AMPC) technology, storing user biometric data in fragments across databases managed by different universities. Mazza emphasized that user verification rewards are only distributed in WLD tokens, which grant network governance rights to holders.
