On 5/7/2025, Tether – a leading company in the digital asset field – announced the deployment of native USDT stablecoin directly on the Kaia blockchain. This event marks an important step in the strategy to expand stablecoin applications in Asia, as Tether collaborates with LINE NEXT and Kaia to bring USD₮ to hundreds of millions of ordinary users through the Mini Dapp ecosystem integrated into LINE Messenger.
With 196 million monthly active users, LINE Messenger is one of the most popular platforms in Asia. The integration of USD₮ into Kaia – a high-performance blockchain built to serve the LINE Mini Dapp and Dapp Portal ecosystem – will enable users to make payments, transfer money across borders, or interact with DeFi services simply, securely, and without leaving the LINE application.
According to the announcement, USD₮ will be supported on both the self-custodial wallet integrated into LINE and the Mini Dapp platform, allowing users to receive rewards for completing tasks in Dapps, or send/receive stablecoins with friends directly within the app. In the future, LINE NEXT will continue to expand USD₮ integration into various features to optimize a seamless Web3 experience for users.
