From AI Asset Registration to Sahara Legends Gamified Tasks.

On Monday (May 19), the AI-native full-stack Web3 platform Sahara AI officially launched its public test network SIWA, opening channels for AI creation, collaboration, and monetization for developers across all chains.
Sahara AI states that SIWA is the first public entry point for the Sahara blockchain, and as underlying infrastructure, its core function is to provide verifiable rights confirmation, license management, and on-chain monetization capabilities for AI assets such as datasets and models, establishing a trustworthy and traceable AI collaboration standard.
The SIWA testnet will be rolled out in four phases:
- Phase One (current): Focusing on "decentralized data rights confirmation", supporting users to register their independent datasets on-chain and mint data ownership certificates in ERC-721 format, giving data asset attributes of traceability, valuability, and revenue sharing.
- Subsequent phases: Gradually introducing licensing and income distribution mechanisms, permissionless open-source testnet, and automatic income sharing pipelines.
Sahara AI's roadmap released in December last year stated that they will launch the Sahara Chain mainnet in the third quarter of 2025, providing on-chain infrastructure needed for large-scale decentralized AI.
During the private testing phase, Sahara AI has already achieved notable results. Total account numbers exceeded 3.2 million, with daily active accounts over 1.4 million, including more than 200,000 users participating in data annotation tasks, fully demonstrating market interest in Sahara AI.
What is Sahara AI's Background?
In terms of team, Sahara AI co-founder and CEO Sean Ren is also an associate professor at the University of Southern California, who has received honors such as MIT TR 35 Under 35 Innovator (Asia-Pacific) and Forbes Asia 30 Under 30. Another co-founder and COO Tyler Zhou previously served as an investment director at Binance Labs.
In terms of funding, Sahara AI has raised a total of $49 million, building a luxurious investment matrix from "traditional capital + crypto-native". In March 2024, Sahara AI announced completing a $6 million seed round, led by Polychain Capital with participation from Samsung Next. In August 2024, Sahara AI announced completing a $43 million funding round, led by Binance Labs, Pantera Capital, and Polychain Capital, with participation from Samsung, Lenovo Venture, Siam Commercial Bank, Foresight Ventures, dao5, Alumni Ventures, Geekcartel, Nomad Capital, and Mirana Ventures.
Interaction Strategy
Currently, Sahara AI's public test network SIWA only supports tokenized AI models, datasets, and agents, with plans to later open AI agent construction and support buying and selling AI datasets, models, and agents in peer-to-peer markets.
I. AI Asset Registration Guide:
1. Open https://app.saharalabs.ai/developer-platform/main/explore and connect wallet.
2. Create Profile, upload avatar, fill in birth year, gender, country.
3. Claim 0.1 SAH from the Faucet (https://faucet.saharalabs.ai/). This Faucet requires the wallet address to have at least 0.01 ETH on the Ethereum mainnet.
4. Click to register AI assets, fill in name, detailed information, language, comments, and upload dataset (file format must be csv, json, or txt) for minting, with assets minted in ERC721 format.
5. Check minted assets in the My Asset column on the left.
II. Data Service Platform (DSP) Tasks
Currently requires whitelist permission, but Open Beta will be launched on May 27, 2025. Select data annotation tasks (such as classification, image or text labeling) on the DSP, and earn Sahara points upon completion.
III. Sahara Legends Gamified Tasks (launched on January 30)
1. Open https://legends.saharalabs.ai/, connect wallet, then explore 5 desert missions.
2. In Gobi Desert, complete daily check-in and social media tasks to earn shards (no need to claim on Galxe);
3. In Sahara Desert, complete Data Service Platform registration, with other tasks requiring whitelist application. The author currently cannot unlock other desert missions.
The rewards center shows that collecting enough fragments in each desert can awaken its guardian, and claim a soul-bound Non-Fungible Token on the Sahara testnet to commemorate achievements and contributions to Sahara AI's early ecosystem development. Once all five desert guardian Non-Fungible Tokens are collected, an exclusive Bitsy Soulbound Non-Fungible Token can be crafted on the Sahara testnet.
