Global law enforcement operation dismantles Dark Web drug network, seizes $200 million in cash and crypto assets

PANews reported on May 23 that according to Decrypt, the U.S. Department of Justice announced that in the "Operation RapTor", a global operation involving 10 countries resulted in the arrest of 270 people, seizing $200 million in cash and cryptocurrency assets, and confiscating over 2 tons of drugs, including 144 kilograms of fentanyl-containing drugs. This is the largest law enforcement action by the U.S. J-CODE project to date, focusing on cracking down on drug networks operating through the Dark Web and cryptocurrency transactions. The operation also shut down the operators of drug markets Nemesis and Incognito Market, with crypto assets once again becoming a focal point for money laundering in transnational crime.
