Eric Trump – son of President Donald Trump – stated that the official memecoin named TRUMP has "strategically partnered" with World Liberty Financial (WLFI), a decentralized financial (DeFi) project launched last fall with support from the Trump family.
Specifically, in a post on X, Eric wrote: "Although the meme wallet is no longer being developed, we are still focused on building the most interesting memecoin on the planet – $TRUMP. Moreover, we are proud to announce that World Liberty Financial plans to acquire a large amount of $TRUMP tokens to add to their long-term treasury. Both sides share a broader vision of cryptocurrency, patriotism, and sustainable success."
Previously, the NFT platform Magic Eden and Fight Fight Fight LLC announced plans to launch a new wallet and trading application. According to Magic Eden's CEO and co-founder Jack Lu, the wallet allows users to trade the memecoin $TRUMP along with major cryptocurrencies like BTC, ETH, SOL, ADA, XRP, and Doge.
However, all three of President Trump's sons have confirmed that the Trump Organization has no connection to this wallet project. They also stated that an official wallet will be issued by World Liberty Financial. According to a Bloomberg report, WLFI has sent a cease and desist letter to Fight Fight Fight to protect the brand and official development direction of the project.
In another post on Friday, the official account of World Liberty Financial wrote: "The Trump memecoin and World Liberty Financial may travel on different lanes, but they are on the same highway – sharing values, mission, and ideals: enhancing American power through technological innovation."
