There something weirdly amusing about eating dinner in Kyiv right now, after three days of almost no air raids, watching videos of Iran burning and Tel Aviv being hit by Iranian ballistic missiles. The last big raid on Kyiv was almost entirely drones. Almost no missiles. Why? Because Ukraine had brilliantly taken out much of Russia's airplane fleet that they use to launch those missiles. All Russia could do was launch a few hundred Shahed drones (and decoys) at Kyiv. Most of which got shot down. Kyiv feels just fine right now – busy, with lots of people out and about. The restaurant I'm in right now is packed. Israel may be getting hit now. But unless Israel was too late, all Iran can do is launch some remaining conventional missiles at Israel. That sucks right now. But they'll endure just fine, and if they keep up the pressure on Iran, they'll achieve a high degree of safety by destroying Iran's nuclear program; flatten their oil and gas industry, crushing their economy, and Iran won't even be able to attack them conventionally. It's not hard. Kill evil people and destroy their infrastructure, and you'll get to rest soundly at night. Israel gets it. Most of the Western world doesn't. But much of the Western world thought that defunding the police would somehow make shoplifting and murder rates go down...
