Binance founder CZ recently clarified on the social platform X a long-held external perception: the rumor that he owns "90% of Binance's stock". In the past, it was widely circulated that CZ held nine-tenths of the company's shares. Although he is no longer the company's executive (prohibited from participating in Binance operations in his previous plea agreement with the US government), as a major shareholder, he still maintains significant influence.
In response, CZ explicitly stated that he does not have 90% of the shares, but also did not clarify exactly how much he owns. While this helps equate high shareholding with platform decision-making concentration risks, it still leaves the question of "how much" unanswered.
McGill graduate? Actually dropped out in senior year
Another rumor claims that CZ graduated from McGill University's Computer Science department. CZ also clarified that he dropped out in his senior year to enter the industry, and later obtained a degree from a distance learning institution to facilitate work visa processing.
Two small corrections: I don't have 90% of the shares
And I didn't graduate from McGill
One can only say another record has been created of a college dropout who later achieved extraordinary success.
