According to Foresight News, Jon Atack, a long-term Bitcoin Core developer and US citizen, tweeted that he was arrested in El Salvador on false charges, during which multiple Bitcoin ecosystem developers retweeted in support of Jon Atack. Jon Atack was released one hour after his arrest.
Jon Atack stated that he was falsely accused due to a land-related dispute with his neighbor and was arrested on charges of violating the Special Comprehensive Law for a Life Free of Violence against Women. Multiple KOLs claimed that the law is unreasonable, and El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele has also been falsely accused under this law.
