According to ChainCatcher, citing Decrypt, the Korean Financial Services Commission and exchanges have approved a consortium led by Sora Ventures, KCGI, and Metaplanet CEO Simon Gerovich to acquire controlling stakes in the Korean listed company SGA Co. They plan to issue approximately 58.86 million ordinary shares, raising a total of about 34.49 billion Korean won (approximately $25 million).
This move marks the consortium's efforts to advance their Bitcoin financial strategy through an Asian listed company. Metaplanet CEO Simon Gerovich is participating in a personal capacity, and the supported Asia Strategy Partners LLC will become the largest shareholder of SGA Co. Previously, the group had also initiated similar strategies in Thailand, continuously expanding their Bitcoin adoption path in the Asian market.
