Vitalik: The best way to build L2 is to make full use of the characteristics of L1 and simplify its own logic

PANews reported on July 15 that Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin posted on X platform, stating that the best way to build L2 networks is to more fully utilize the characteristics provided by L1 (such as security, censorship resistance, proof mechanisms, data availability, etc.), while simplifying its own logic to serve only as a sequencer and prover above the core execution layer (or solely as a prover if no sequencing function is needed). This approach that combines minimized trust and efficiency is precisely what enterprise blockchain teams pursued in the 2010s but never achieved. Now, through Ethereum L2 networks, this goal has been realized. Moreover, we have already seen many successful cases where L1 network characteristics can protect user rights when L2 networks encounter issues.
