Space Travel Four Years After Successfully Bidding 38.9 Billion Won in 2021
Blue Origin has confirmed the boarding of Justin Sun, founder of TRON and advisor to HTX (Huobi) Exchange, for the 'NS-34' mission to be held on August 3rd (Sunday) in West Texas, United States.The launch is scheduled for 7:30 AM local time (9:30 PM Korean time) and will be live-streamed 30 minutes before launch on BlueOrigin.com.
Justin Sun had previously won the auction for the first space travel seat of Blue Origin in 2021, bidding 28 million dollars (389 million won). At the time, the auction proceeds were donated to 19 space-related charities to support the development of next-generation STEAM talents.
Selected as the cover model for Forbes Magazine's April 2025 issue, Justin Sun is known as the WTO ambassador of Grenada, former prime minister of Riverland, and founder of TRON, one of the world's largest blockchain platforms. He is also known as Alibaba's Jack Ma's disciple and earned the nickname 'Crypto's Billionaire Barker' for his innovative leadership in the cryptocurrency industry.
This space travel will include a total of 6 passengers, including Justin Sun, world traveler Arby Bahal, Turkish Gökhan Erdem, meteorologist Deborah Matorel, Nepalese activist Lionel Pitchford, and J.D. Russell on his second space journey.
Blue Origin's New Shepard program marks its 14th manned flight and 34th overall flight, having sent a total of 70 civilians beyond the international space boundary, the Kármán line.
This space travel is drawing attention as the first space flight by a cryptocurrency industry figure, and is expected to provide a new perspective on the potential convergence of blockchain technology and the space industry.
