An analysis has revealed that Bitcoin (BTC) continues to record an overwhelmingly high long-term compound annual growth rate (CAGR). According to the recently published 'Bitcoin Intelligence Report', Bitcoin's average annual growth rate over the past 10 years reached 42.5%, significantly outperforming both the Nasdaq index and gold. Even if the growth rate somewhat slows down in the future, it is expected to still maintain strong returns in the long term.
The report first compared Bitcoin's performance with major asset classes. The Nasdaq's 10-year moving compound annual growth rate is typically in the mid to low double digits, with the recent 10-year average around 16%. In contrast, gold has a yield of 10.65%, and when considering the annual supply increase of 2%, the real growth rate is estimated at about 12.88%. Compared to these, Bitcoin is drawing a growth curve of a different dimension.
However, the report also suggested that the long-term growth rate might gradually decrease. Bitcoin's compound annual growth rate is expected to drop from the current 42.5% to around 30% by 2030. This is a conservative estimate reflecting increased market maturity, reduced mining rewards, and regulatory impacts.
Price forecasts were also mentioned. The 'Power-law' and Quantile-based models indicated that Bitcoin's price could reach $150,000-$200,000 in the fourth quarter of 2025. Looking at a more long-term perspective, the possibility of $1.2-1.5 million by 2035 was also presented.
Bitcoin's high growth is evaluated as a result of its different nature from traditional assets, limited supply structure, and market trust in blockchain technology. It is particularly emphasized that major halving events have played a milestone role in driving price appreciation cycles. The report analyzed that "while Bitcoin's growth rate will gradually moderate, it remains an asset with extremely excellent profitability and diversification investment value compared to other asset classes".
