Ripple Labs has closed its long-running lawsuit with the SEC after both sides agreed to withdraw their appeals in August. Attorney John Deaton asserted that the XRP Army community played a key Vai in providing evidence, documents, and thousands of affidavits that helped Ripple strengthen its legal argument.
Ripple Vice President Deborah McCrimmon said these voluntary efforts saved thousands of dollars in legal fees and demonstrated the far-reaching impact of the lawsuit on investors, not just Ripple. Judge Torres also directly cited the XRP holder ’ affidavits in her final ruling.
Following the ruling, XRP surged 72% to $0.81 and hit a new all-time high of $3.65 in July before correcting to its current $2.85.
