Recently, OpenAI announced ChatGPT Go, an AI subscription package priced at 4 USD or 132,000 VND per month, which will be deployed in Vietnam.
Accordingly, from the afternoon of October 9, when registering for a ChatGPT subscription, the ChatGPT Go package appeared on the page. This is OpenAI's lowest package, priced at $4 per month. Previously, the company only offered two subscription packages in Vietnam, including Plus for $20 and Pro for $200.
The launch of ChatGPT Go comes amid the rapid growth of OpenAI’s tools in Vietnam. Vietnam is now among the top 5 countries in Asia with ChatGPT’s highest weekly active users, a 3x increase in just one year, reflecting the growing interest in AI applications in everyday life. As demand and confidence in the potential of AI applications continues to grow, ChatGPT Go makes it easier than ever for everyone to experience cutting-edge AI tools.
"Millions of people across Vietnam are turning to ChatGPT to help them learn, create, and solve everyday problems," said Nick Turley, Vice President and General Manager of ChatGPT.
With the new package, users can buy directly on the web and convert according to the exchange rate, or buy through the application markets. For example, on Android, ChatGPT Go can be registered for 120,000 VND excluding VAT, while on iOS, the subscription price is 132,000 VND.
On its introduction page, OpenAI said Go was launched on October 9 in 18 markets, including Vietnam. Other markets include India, Pakistan, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Thailand.
Compared to the free subscription, the Go plan allows access to more features, such as more chat with GPT-5, image creation, file upload, access to custom GPTs. However, users cannot use some premium features such as Deep Research mode, Agent, or Sora video creator, programming with Codex.
"We want to bring cutting-edge AI technology to everyone. ChatGPT Go is more accessible and affordable, allowing more people to take advantage of the benefits of ChatGPT," said Nick Turley.
