On November 3, the Hanoi City Police Department of Investigation announced that it had just decided to search for Ngo Van Phuong (born in 1999, residing in Diem Thuy commune, Thai Nguyen province) for the crime of "Using computer networks, telecommunications networks, and electronic means to commit acts of property appropriation".
According to the investigation results, in 2023, Phuong's group defrauded many investors through the virtual currency exchange Lion Broker. After luring the victims to deposit money to participate in investing, the subjects "collapsed the account" and appropriated all the money.
On September 11, 2025, the Hanoi City Police Department prosecuted Ngo Van Phuong, but Phuong fled his residence.
On October 15, 2025, the investigation agency issued a nationwide wanted notice for this suspect.
