There were numerous complaints about the GAIB airdrop, and we analyzed both on-chain and off-chain data to determine what was wrong. By examining the airdrop claim page in browser developer tools (via network request logs), we were able to see the entire raw dataset used to calculate token distribution for each wallet. The API response included all the underlying parameters: total_airdrop cliff_airdrop s1_pts migration_bonus nft_holder discord_role_holder galxe_starboard_rank despread_winner community The total airdrop amount (total_airdrop) was 46,193,090. Given this size, the airdrop was not structurally flawed. Allocating 4.6% to Season 1 was not a crime. However, the token allocation was abnormal. Wallets with an S1 deposit point of '0' and holding only one NFT were found to receive an average of 50,000 to 100,000 tokens. All of these wallets appeared to have been created by Gate.io, and as they were completely new, their owners were unknown. The GAIB team has admitted to an error in the distribution, and I'd like to believe their statement is true. If there was an error, they can simply re-distribute. And importantly, these wallets haven't claimed any tokens yet. If redistribution occurs, regular users could potentially receive nearly three times the amount of tokens currently being distributed.
