A solo Bitcoin Miners has earned 3,146 BTC, worth about $266,000, with just 1.2 TH/s of computing power — against almost impossible odds.
On Friday, the Miners struck it big by solving Block 924,569, despite having only a fraction of the computing power normally required to receive the Block reward. He is believed to be using hobby-grade equipment.
With a hashrate of just 1.2 terahash/second (TH/s), a mere speck in an industry dominated by industrial-scale mining systems at exahash levels (1 trillion hashes/second), this victory is all the more rare.
CKpool founder Con Kolivas announced the win on social media X, congratulating the “extremely lucky” Miners and noting the extraordinary odds of such a feat. He estimated that the likelihood of such an event occurring at such a hashrate was about 1 in 1.2 million per day.
Miners received 3,125 BTC from block rewards, plus 0.021 BTC in transaction fees, bringing the total income to over 3,146 BTC, according to on-chain data.

Solo Miners record more wins in 2025
While the current Bitcoin mining landscape is dominated by large organizations, 2025 is shaping up to be a banner year for solo Miners . According to Mempool Space, CKpool has mined 13 Block this year, Medium more than one Block per month.
Last month, a solo Miners won a reward worth $347,455 for solving Block 920,440 on his own, receiving 3,125 BTC plus all transaction fees.
Previously, in early July, another Miners with only 2.3 petahash power also claimed the full Block reward. Similar victories were recorded in June, March, and February.
Bitcoin Miners Turn to AI
After the latest halving caused profit margins to shrink, major Bitcoin mining companies are looking for new revenue streams, especially in the AI sector.
CleanSpark has begun pivoting to building data center infrastructure for AI — a move that sent the company's stock up 13% after the expansion plan was announced in October.
Meanwhile, TeraWulf is planning to raise $500 million through a convertible bond issuance to finance the construction of a new data center in Abernathy, Texas.
