Hundreds of Bitcoin wallets previously associated with the Silk Road black market platform have unexpectedly become active again after more than a decade of inactivity, causing a stir in the cryptocurrency community in recent days. on-chain analysis shows that a total of 312 wallets belonging to the Silk Road cluster simultaneously transferred 33.7 BTC, equivalent to approximately $3.14 million, and all of this money flowed to the same address with the format starting with "bc1q…ga54". The recipient's identity remains unknown.
What puzzled analysts was that these wallets hadn't had any transactions in 13 years. Their sudden "awakening" sparked a range of theories, from internal transfers to enhance security and preparations for asset surrender, to actions by a third party with access to private keys.
