Three ways Las Vegas casinos have tilted floors games in their favour in the past decade:
▫️BLACKJACK: Payout for a Blackjack has gone from 3:2 to 6:5 (tripled the house’s edge from 0.67% to 2%)
▫️ROULETTE: Many tables now have a “triple zero” (in addition to the “single zero” and “double zero”; each zero added to a table increases the house’s edge by 2.7%)
▫️MINIMUMS: In the past 5 years, the number of casinos that offered $5 minimum Blackjack has decreased from 38 to 6 (higher minimum bets in the $25 range means fewer betting units for the same size roll, and that benefits the house)
These moves are in addition to price gouging with jacked up F&B prices, new resort fees and less accommodating loyalty programs.
