According to Foresight News , citing CoinDesk, Ethereum will activate the Glamsterdam upgrade in 2026 to address the MEV fairness issue. The core of Glamsterdam is EIP-7723, a proposal that separates the nodes that build blocks from those that propose them, thus preventing any single participant from controlling which transactions are included in a block or how they are ordered.
Another proposal, EIP-7928, allows blocks to pre-declare which accounts and smart contract data they will access. Clients can preload and reuse data more efficiently without having to discover this information by traversing each transaction, making block execution faster, more predictable, and easier to optimize.
