SlowMist CISO: New MacSync variant malware can bypass macOS security and steal cryptocurrency wallet data.

According to Mars Finance, 23pds, Chief Information Security Officer of SlowMist Technology, has disclosed a new variant of the information-stealing malware MacSync, which can successfully bypass the macOS Gatekeeper security mechanism, resulting in the theft of user assets. This malware employs multiple techniques to evade detection, including file inflation, network connection verification, and a self-destructing script. Attackers can use this software to steal sensitive data such as victims' iCloud keychains, browser passwords, and cryptocurrency wallets. Users should be vigilant, avoid downloading software from unknown sources, promptly update operating system security patches, and take additional measures to protect their encrypted assets.
