Where are some good places to rent village houses in Hong Kong? I don't need to live on the main island of Hong Kong, and I don't work there, so why would I live there? I'm looking at the less desirable suburban areas in the north. Where are some suitable options? My requirements are a good living experience; the houses themselves should be well-built and relatively new (like those pictured). 1. Parking is preferred. 2. The closer to the border crossing, the better. I only need one floor, and my budget is HKD 25,000-30,000. DM me if you have any connections.

Tony, you could check out the storage properties near Tai Po, Fanling, and Sheung Shui—the first one in your picture. Tai Po Market is the best; it's by the sea and has a beach. These areas are all close to the East Rail Line (connecting Admiralty on Hong Kong Island to Futian and Lo Wu border crossings), only three or four MTR stops away from Futian and Lo Wu. By car, from Tai Po, take the Tolo Harbour Company to the Tai Lo Shan Tunnel; it's about 10-20 minutes to Kowloon Tung Lok. It's also about 10 minutes to Huanggang and Liantang border crossings.
