He emphasized that Ethereum's core mission is to build a truly decentralized "world computer," supporting applications that can still function normally even if developers disappear or infrastructure collapses. Buterin pointed out that Ethereum is not chasing short-term trends or filling up block space, but is committed to building a more free and open internet infrastructure, achieving scalability and true decentralization. He described Ethereum as a "rebellion" against the increasing centralization of the current digital world and pledged to continue advancing this mission in 2026.
