The story of a Chinese entrepreneur from a small town achieving increasing prominence in the AI industry is remarkable, with Manus CEO Xiao Hong becoming Meta's Vice President. After listening to Zhang Xiaojun's business interview, I learned about another Manus founder, Ji Yichao. His father is a Peking University professor, and his mother is a serial entrepreneur in Zhongguancun. Despite not having a university education, he speaks fluent English. The team secured funding from ZhenFund early on. Building upon their successful AI plugin Monica, the team upgraded and restructured their product concept, ultimately creating the AI Agent product Manus. They relocated to Singapore in early 2025.
