On January 13, YZi Labs made a multi-hundred-million-dollar investment in Genius Trading, and CZ will join the project as an advisor.
Genius Trading is building a privacy-focused decentralized trading platform that offers spot, perpetual contract, and copy trading capabilities through a self-custodied, cross-chain integrated trading terminal, aiming to become an on-chain alternative to Binance.
According to Genius co-founder and CEO Armaan Kalsi, YZi Labs' investment occurred last month and was significantly higher than $10 million. He declined to disclose the specific size and investment structure (equity, token, or hybrid form), and did not respond to whether Genius plans to issue its own token.
Genius positions itself as a unified on-chain transaction terminal, allowing users to access liquidity on more than 10 blockchains, including BNB Chain, Solana, Ethereum, Hyperliquid, Base, Avalanche, and Sui, without the need for cross-chain bridges, wallet switching, or exposing transaction strategies on-chain.
