According to Odaily, approximately 70 billion won (US$47.7 million) of seized Bitcoin belonging to the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office in South Korea has been stolen, and authorities have launched an investigation.
According to reports, prosecutors discovered missing Bitcoin during a routine inspection of seized assets. These crypto assets were stolen via phishing attacks after an employee visited a fraudulent website. Prosecutors declined to disclose the specific amount lost or the date the Bitcoin was seized, stating only that they are "tracking the status and whereabouts of the seized items." This incident comes after South Korean customs authorities dismantled a large cryptocurrency money laundering network this Monday. (Cointelegraph)
