Odaily Odaily reports that the Ethereum Foundation has announced the formation of a dedicated Post-Quantum security team, led by Thomas Coratger and supported by LeanVM cryptographer Emile, elevating quantum security to its highest strategic priority. Researcher Justin Drake stated that Ethereum is transitioning from a long-term back-end research phase to active engineering implementation, including launching a bi-weekly developer conference for quantum-resistant transactions and running a multi-client quantum-resistant consensus test network.
The Ethereum Foundation is also increasing its funding and community investment, planning to launch two cryptography awards, each worth $1 million, and to host multiple quantum-related community events and educational programs in 2026. The Ethereum Foundation emphasizes that while the quantum threat remains a medium- to long-term risk, blockchain technology needs to be prepared in advance to ensure wallet security and smooth network upgrades.
