Garrett losing 100 Million American Dollars isn't just because of "unwavering conviction" in his thesis,
It's because EVERYTHING he's doing is PUBLIC.
When you're PUBLIC with such big positions,
It's very painful to bite the bullet and accept being wrong.
You enter a trance state of mind where the only thing relevant is, "I'm not wrong, the market is wrong."
And he may very well NOT BE WRONG, I don't digress from the "macro" bullish stance [TradFi soaring] etc.
But there's a famous saying, "Insult to injury."
Quietly, we all take losses and bounce back.
Yet, when you add insult to the loss [which is mostly bickering and memeing from spectators],
Suddenly the loss becomes "far less" to stomach compared to the trolling you THINK you'll face.
He would rather lose 100M than tap out.
Garrett, much like every other degen, has thrown out risk management entirely because he simply cannot be seen as the next James Wynn.
NEVER share your positions if you have a strong bias,
You will always trade x10 worse than normal.

Garrett has now roundtripped the entirety of their $100m+ Oct 10th PnL [funding included]
This area was always of interest for me psychologically, as it might be an area of a mental stop for them - i.e begin closing their position. They cant put a public stop or they will be

I see no lies
Being public with losses is tough, but isn’t it better than hiding in silence and pretending to win?
