Da Hongfei responded to Zhang Zhengwen's accusations: distorting the facts and only telling half the truth.

According to Mars Finance, on January 26th, NEO founder Da Hongfei responded to accusations from Erik Zhang, one of NEO's two founders: "This is a distortion of the facts. The mechanism you explicitly proposed today is 'every transaction and all expenditures must be approved by me' (your exact words). This is not a mechanism at all, but rather a replication of the NF Treasury's autocratic management. My exact words were: 'Starting this year, NF and NGD will release financial reports in the first quarter of each year, increasing transparency and providing more details based on past reports.' I have already told you that you (and other community members) will be authorized to publish news and blogs on neo.org, and I also privately indicated that Neo's X account will also be entrusted to you for publishing content and building followers for your new initiatives. You have repeatedly used this tactic of 'only telling half the truth.' From now on, we should record all our conversations. For the sake of transparency, I proposed, and you agreed, that transactions be conducted between the NF Treasury, which you manage, and NGD." The first transaction amount is $1 million, executed at the spot price. I also clearly stated my motivation: to increase the proportion of NGD holdings to align interests more closely; and to provide you with operating funds to promote the development of the Neo mainnet. I have always made it very clear that I am only pursuing "limited cooperation." We still share a common goal—the growth and revival of Neo. Cooperating where we are aligned and proceeding independently where we disagree is the only way to resolve the governance deadlock in Neo in recent years. Please do not misinterpret my words.” Previously reported, Zhang Zhengwen stated, “My meeting with NEO founder Da Hongfei has just ended. The result was neither surprising nor pleasant. He proposed so-called 'limited cooperation,' but did not provide any substantive content on any key issues. I clearly stated three minimum requirements: establish an effective and verifiable financial supervision and management mechanism; abandon the EON project, a new project that directly competes with NEO; and authorize me to release information through the official website and the official X (Twitter) account. All three requirements were explicitly rejected.” Given NEO's continued decline over the past few years under his leadership, I hereby formally call for Da Hongfei to resign from his leadership position within the NEO ecosystem.
