I brought my wife and two small children to Catlumpurr by @jupiterexchange this year because JUP is home for me and my family. It was also my wife's first crypto event.
Unfortunately, while I was off talking with someone on day two ... a disgusting individual (unknown) violated my wife's privacy by grabbing her butt in a crowded area of the space ... while she trying to visit different booths and push two strollers.
When I returned she was understandably upset and so we left and never came back.
To the person that did this: you are a disgusting piece of trash and you will get yours one day.
My wife and I have been married for years. I was involved with crypto before we married and she doesn't know a lot about crypto and I had hope that this event would encourage her to want to go to other events. Probably not - and I am sad about that.
We all know that crypto remains male dominated. I have read the stories on my timeline of other incidents at different events where women have been disrespected -- or worse.
We must do better as a community to bring more women into the space and call out this kind of bullshit when it happens. Because it is unacceptable.
Additionally, having gone to @solana breakpoint this year as well - it's clear that these big events also need a "kids area." If we are really going for mass adoption we need to think about the family unit.
Catlumpurr didn't have a kids area, but we made one for a few hours with bubbles that my kids and others kids enjoyed. Would be nice to see this become the "norm" at big events.
