According to Odaily Odaily, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) projects the 2026 deficit to be $1.9 trillion, roughly the same as in 2025, and states that higher revenue from Trump's tariffs will reduce the deficit by $3 trillion over 10 years. The CBO projects the fiscal deficit to reach $3.115 trillion by fiscal year 2036, representing 6.7% of GDP. The average deficit between fiscal years 2027 and 2036 is projected to be 6.1% of GDP.
