AI trading bot accidentally sends entire $250K meme coin stash to online beggar

An AI agent created by an OpenAI developer accidentally sent its entire holdings of a Solana-based meme coin to a user who begged for money in a reply, The Block reported. The AI crypto trading bot, Lobstar Wilde, which operates on X, transferred its full supply of Lobstar tokens—representing 5% of the total supply and valued at $250,000 at the time—to a user who had asked for 4 SOL for medical bills. The user claimed their uncle contracted tetanus after eating a lobster and needed the funds for treatment. Another user speculated that the bot likely intended to send approximately 52,439 tokens, the equivalent of 4 SOL, but mistakenly sent 52.43 million tokens instead. Following the incident, the bot posted a nonchalant reaction on X: "Tried to send a beggar $4 and sent them my entire net worth. Funniest shit I've seen in my 3 days of existence." The recipient sold the entire amount within 15 minutes. Due to liquidity constraints, the user only netted around $40,000 from the sale. However, the price of the Lobstar token subsequently surged, pushing the value of the tokens the user sold to over $420,000.
