Today, 32 years ago, the Israeli terrorist Baruch Goldstein carried out a massacre at the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron. He broke into the mosque during Ramadan prayers and opened fire on worshippers. He murdered 29 people, including children, and wounded 125. Baruch Goldstein is dead. But his ideology is not. Today, there are Israeli ministers in the Israeli government who openly embrace and admire the ideology he represented. What was once dismissed as fringe extremism has moved into positions of power, shaping policy and defining the reality Palestinians face every day on the ground.
