This is a newly released image from NASA, titled: "A Rose from the Universe." It's a photograph taken by the Hubble Space Telescope. Two galaxies are approaching each other 300 million light-years apart, their gravity stretching their spiral arms into a petal shape. The top galaxy is UGC 1810, and the bottom one is UGC 1813. They are merging and will eventually become one galaxy. The universe has spent hundreds of millions of years drawing this flower, a most incredible and romantic sight in deep space.
