The hardest part of being a VC is the many thousands of micro decisions that could change the course of your firm every single year. For emerging managers, there are a handful of decisions you’ve already gotten wrong that would have changed the trajectory of your firm. Hopefully you have made a few great decisions too, but if you talk to any emerging managers who’s worth their salt, they’ll have it least a dozen decisions they wish they made differently. You have to get one decision REALLY right every couple years to earn the opportunity to keep doing this job. So luckily those mistakes can be overcome any single day (or any single pitch call). Just gotta keep your head down and keep doing the thing.
