At Mach 2 you are covering over a thousand miles an hour, yet the horizon never drops away, the cockpit instruments never demand a constant nose dive, and the pilot never has to chase a disappearing curve. If we are truly flying over a spinning ball, why does level flight look and feel exactly like level flight?
