According to Foresight News , citing CoinDesk, federal prosecutors filed documents with a judge on March 23, questioning the authenticity of a retrial application filed on March 16 by FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF). The letter appears to have been sent via FedEx from either Palo Alto or Menlo Park, California, rather than from Terminal Island federal prison where SBF is serving his sentence.
Prosecutors pointed out that the Bureau of Prisons regulations prohibit inmates from using private courier services such as FedEx. Furthermore, the letter mislabeled the federal prison where SBF was located as a state facility, and the signature was merely a typed "/s/". Prosecutors stated that these discrepancies cast doubt on the letter's authenticity and challenged the reliability of the evidence submitted by SBF in its pursuit of a retrial.
