Tencent poached several key members of ByteDance Seed to report to Yao Shunyu.

According to Mars Finance, sources close to Tencent's Hunyuan team revealed that Xiao Xuefeng, former head of ByteDance's Seed visual AI platform team, and Zhang Chi from the Infra team, have recently joined Tencent quietly. They will be responsible for large-scale model Infra-related work, reporting to Tencent's Chief AI Scientist, Yao Shunyu. At the end of 2025, Tencent upgraded its large-scale model R&D architecture, establishing a new AI Infra Department, headed by Yao Shunyu. It is understood that after joining the company, Xiao Xuefeng will directly serve as the department's assistant head, assisting Yao Shunyu in managing the department. Meanwhile, Huang Qi, the head of the training Infra group within this department, also comes from the ByteDance Seed team.
